04 The ancient temple
A large and ancient Buddhist temple still in use. Very few tourists except over 100 lomographers admiring it's tranquility. Maybe because of this I took the liberty to explore the back living quarters of the monks to get a different view. Sandals left everywhere along with fire extinguishers. Superb carvings adorning the roofs. Even the log for hitting the gong had character. The spotless dining area. Practising caligraphy on the walls. Even monks needed air conditioning sometimes. Certainly plenty of roof tiles for restoration. In the courtyard the elders play Chinese chess.
