Fast food has arrived, the Mac D's, the KFC all with their localised specials. However only a treat for the more well off, their kids and of course foreigners. The slogans, style and decor identical across the globe. So it's nice when the first fish and chip shop arrives in China. A tiny shop in the back streets of the Sanlitun bar area. Really good quality fish and chips served in it's own specially printed newspaper. This was much better than the numerous fish and chip shops in Britain. I couldn't resist getting a snap with the staff. Fish Nation you deserve a medal. For the ultimate in slow food, work up a sweat doing it yourself with a hot pot. Platters of sliced meat, fresh veg and stock to create your own meal.
