ehr008 Malory
limited edition 7" of 200 copies

Germany is having a bit of a musical revolution, great record labels and bands beyond the electronica are making an impact on the rest of the world. This is the second band from Germany that I am releasing a single by. Malory were formed in 1995 by three school friends. The so called wave-era was over in Germany but it made such an impression on these three guys with the logical consequence that spacy ambient sounds came out their rehearsal room. With the addition of female vocals and a real drummer replacing the drum machine the final sound emerged from this great new band. The original line includes Jörg Köhler who plays guitar, performs programming and contributes to the vocal duties. Jörg Jakel plays drums, Daniel Hammer plays guitar, Jordis Marscher with the vocals and Sven Ziesche plays bass. Jordis has recently moved on and Daniela Neuhäuser takes her place on vocals and guitar.

Malory's vision for exploring sounds has moved them into a live band and they have played many gigs in Germany including support for the Trembling Blue Stars. Predominately guitar based producing wonderfully ambient grandiose music that is rather heavenly when accompanied by Daniela's and Jorg's angelic vocals. Wake Up is a new song recorded exclusively for this release, multi layered guitars are intertwined into programmed beats with big build ups and a live sound. Falling Shine is altogether more melodic and floats atmospherically around you. The sound of The Field Mice and Melys crosses paths here. These songs deserve only to be played at high volumes so that the Malory sound swallows your room and your mind. Falling Shine comes from their excellent second album Outerbeats which is available in Germany on Alison Records/Solar 3D. The sound samples here do not do justice for them, you'll need the record to appreciate the music.

All releases will be available at selected record stores and by mail order. Please e-mail emmashouse[at]onoffonoff[dot]org for details.
