ehr006 the workhouse
limited edition 10" of 100 copies

Following their excellent first single on the label (which has now sold out), I am pleased to welcome them back. Paper Plane was the first choice for a single but because of it's length (clocking at at just under 9 minutes) it wouldn't fit onto a 7" with ease. Fortunately I have found a source to get small quantities of 10"'s done so can present their ever brillant instrumentals to you all.

With two releases in 2000 and many gigs, The Workhouse are now taking a break whilst members of the band do their own thing for the first half of 2001 before re-grouping for the rest of the year. I can't help wondering why they are not signed up yet, have always thought the music industry was funny.

Anyway two more epic tracks in the same vein as 'Peacon' but in a greater and never less intense dosage.

Snippets from the press about the Peacon single - 'Delicate minimalism in a less than traditional manner' (City Life). Most definitely. 'cascading euphoric guitars and mellow crescendos, this is full of contradictions' (Record Collector). Absolutely.

The foursome consist of Mark Baker and Andy Dakeyne on guitars, Peter Lazell on drums and Ed Morgan on Bass. You can contact the band at theworkhouse@hotmail.com. Or visit Vitaminic for mp3's of their older stuff.
