Contacts
Most of the early stuff is very hard to get. I've tried so I know.
Your best chance is to look in some second hand music shops and the more
specialist record shops.
The newer stuff (i.e. from the Vinyl Japan period onwards) is easier. I got
my copies of Gettin' Dirty and Life Goes On from HMV.
You could try and write to Creation Records at:-
Creation Records LTD,
109X Regents Park Road,
London
NW1 8UR
Vinyl Japan operate a mail order service and still has
some copies of the Bmx Bandits stuff.
Their address is:-
Vinyl Japan (UK) LTD,
98 Camden Road,
London
NW1 0AY
Shoeshine Records have some copies of all their records for mail order.
They cost ?3 for UK and ?4 for overseas orders.
Contact Francis at:-
Shoeshine Records,
PO Box 15193,
Glasgow G2 6LB UK
Notes
The 53rd and 3rd record label is now defunct, but you can get a compilation of the
records including some Bandits recordings. It's called Fun While It Lasted, and was
meant to have been re-released, but I haven't seen any sign of it yet.
The Bandits have recorded an extra track that has been released on the
Shoeshine Records Compliation. Out now on CD, distributed by Shellshock. About twelve
of your Englsh pounds.
The extra track by the Bandits is "Let's Go Where The Action Is" a sixties 3 chord
garage/pop song written by the classic pop songwriting team Boyce/Hart. Very nice it is too.
The Shoeshine release 'Help Me Somebody' has been released in Spain on the Elefant
Records on white vinyl. The cover is a picture of Duglas' daughter Rhonda.
